Editorial policy
Open Movie Review aims to make film watching more curious, not more complicated. We separate general explanation and suggestion from matters that depend on a particular film, edition or viewing setup.
Accuracy and clarity
We take care with factual claims, distinguish interpretation from verifiable detail and avoid presenting a personal reading as the only possible one. If a point depends on an edition, release or context, we say so when relevant. Readers can contact us through the Contact page to flag errors or unclear wording.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers and the subject, not because a partner asks for favourable coverage. A partnership does not guarantee inclusion, approval or a particular conclusion.
Corrections
When we confirm a meaningful error, we correct the text and make the change clear where appropriate. We consider correction requests on their merits and do not promise to adopt a suggested interpretation simply because it was requested.
Partnerships and illustrations
Paid, gifted or partner-supported material is identified clearly so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial content. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when they are, we label them as such. Illustrations are not evidence about a film or its production.
Curiosity is a good reason to press play.
A small change in attention can make a familiar film feel fresh. We favour experiments you can try at home, including the ones that turn out not to suit you.
